The master thesis defense on Co and Fe nanomagnets by FEBID by Javier Pablo-Navarro (supervised by César Magén and José María De Teresa) took place successfully. Pablo will continue in the group with a PhD thesis.

The master thesis defense on FEBID and FIBID deposition on transparent and flexible polycarbonate substrates by Patricia Peinado (supervised by José María De Teresa) took place successfully.

Patricia will continue the work in FEI in Eindhoven with a STSM in the framework of the CELINA-COST project.

José María De Teresa, together with Jacques Gierak, have organized the Mini-Colloquium “Nanomaterials I: Nanofabrication using focused electron and ion beams” (CMD Conference, Paris), with very active participation of researchers and companies around Focused Ion Beams.

The master thesis defense on sample structuring for applications in superhidrophobicity by Elena Martínez Solanas (supervised by José María De Teresa) took place successfully. Elena will continue the work in BSH company as a research engineer.

The PhD thesis defense on FEBID magnetic nanostructures by Luis Serrano Ramón (under the supervision of Ricardo Ibarra and José María De Teresa) was held successfully. Luis just left for a position at CNRS-CEMES in Toulouse (France).

Later he moved to GPNT company, then to IMEC in Belgium.

J. M. De Teresa and Cornelius Hagen have organized the Session “Focused Electron Beam Induced Processing” in the conference Micro- and Nano-Engineering (MNE 2013, London).
